Ancient History
Greek Olive Oil has long been considered sacred; it was used to anoint kings and athletes in ancient Greece. It was burnt in the sacred lamps of temples as well as being the "eternal flame" of the original Olympic Games. It was believed that the olive was first cultivated on a large scale on the island of Crete from 3000 BC. Since then, olive oil on this island has been the main agricultural product and the home of some of the oldest trees in the world.
Family Tradition
The olive trees of the region, in Crete, belong to thousands of small producers and have been in same families for centuries. Each tree enjoys special care and attention from its owner - from initial planting of the tree thru the harvest of the ripe and delicious olives.
